As we know, Delhi was under Mughal rule for a very long time. That is why many monuments in Delhi have their own unique stories.
The tomb of this Mughal ruler was built on the orders of his Begum (Wife). Humayun’s Tomb contains the tombs of not only Humayun but also his wife, sons, and even his royal courtiers.
The structure is made of red sandstone which took 9 years to complete. And even after so many years, it looks as beautiful as it did then.
There are a total of more than 140 tombs including Humayun’s tomb and each tomb has its own story.
This tomb of Humayun has been listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1993.
